Panic Button — You’re Safe. Let’s Slow Down Together. Panic Button — You’re Safe. Let’s Slow Down Together.
This page is here for moments when everything feels too big, too fast, or too overwhelming.
If you’ve clicked this button, you’ve already done something brave — you reached out for calm.
Take a breath. You’re safe here.
Step 1: Pause
Just stop for a moment. You don’t need to fix anything right now.
Try this:
-
put both feet on the floor
-
drop your shoulders
-
let your hands rest
-
take one slow breath in…
-
and one slow breath out
You’re doing enough.
Step 2: Breathe With Froggy
Froggy Breathing
-
breathe in slowly for 3
-
hold for 1
-
breathe out slowly for 4
Do it once. Or twice. Or as many times as you need.
Your body is allowed to calm down at its own pace.
Step 3: You Are Not in Trouble
Big feelings are not “bad”. You are not “too much”. You are not doing anything wrong.
You’re having a human moment — and that’s okay.
Step 4: What Do You Need Right Now?
Choose one:
-
I need a moment alone
-
I need someone to sit with me
-
I need help
-
I need quiet
-
I need to move
-
I don’t know yet (that’s okay too)
Whatever you choose is valid.
Step 5: If You Want to Talk to an Adult
You can say:
-
“I’m overwhelmed.”
-
“I need help calming down.”
-
“I need a quiet moment.”
-
“I don’t feel okay right now.”
-
“Can you stay with me?”
You don’t need perfect words — any words are enough.
Step 6: If You’re a Parent or Teacher Supporting Someone
Use calm, steady language:
-
“You’re safe. I’m here.”
-
“Let’s breathe together.”
-
“You don’t have to talk yet.”
-
“Your feelings make sense.”
-
“We’ll figure this out slowly.”
Your calm becomes their calm.
Step 7: When You’re Ready…
You can:
-
go back to what you were doing
-
take a break
-
talk to someone
-
rest
-
drink water
-
step outside
-
stay here a little longer
There is no rush.
